Adding friends and growing your network

 

Question

How do I add friends to grow my network?

 

Answer

There are a lot of different ways to add friends to your network.

 

First, you can Invite people you know to join PageSync. If they accept your invitation they will be added to your network of friends.

 

Second, you can perform a User Search to look up existing PageSync members by name or email address. If you find the person you are looking for you can choose to add them as a friend. They will be added if they accept your friend request.

 

Third, you can accept friend request/s sent to you by other PageSync member/s.  You will see this in the "My Inbox" on the homepage.

 

Blogging on PageSync

Can I blog on PageSync?  How?

           

Answer

A blog (short for web log) is a place to publish whatever you like to the web in a simple and efficient fashion. It can be your running thoughts on life, a journal of your experiences, a running commentary on any subject, a place to offer information to others, a family newsletter, or whatever else you want it to be.

 

PageSync allows you to have a blog associated with your PageSync account and this can be easily created by clicking on "create blog" on your profile page. When you create a PageSync blog it will have its own unique URL based on the name you set up (ex. username.blog.PageSync.com). Although your blog is set up on PageSync, it is visible to anyone on the web, whether they are a PageSync member or not. Depending upon the settings you use the blog may be found on other blog search services.

 

 

PageSync Apps / Widgets

What are Apps?

           

 

Answer

"Apps" is short for Applications.  Widget is another name for this. These are third party programs that may be added as enhancement features to your PageSync profile.

 

These apps can be in forms of games, photo slideshows, media player, etc.

 

To add or manage your apps click the Apps tab on the tool bar found on any page while logged in.  Once on the apps page, you could see your apps, pending app invites and pending app notifications.  You can also browse our apps and search alphabetically, by category, by popularity or manually.

 

 

Fighting Spam and Porn

How do I keep my profile free from spam and porn?

           

 

 

Answer

There are no automated quick-fixes that can detect 100% of the various types of spam and porn.  There are, however, some easy steps each of us can take to prevent them from invading and ruining our profiles:

 

1. Use your judgement in accepting friend requests. Do not just accept all friend requests that you receive. 

 

2. Report abuse.  To report abusive email help@PageSync.com with the offending profile and we'll suspend the account ASAP.

 

Across all social networks, the community itself needs to take an active part in keeping the neighborhood clean.  While PageSync is committed to making technology improvements in fighting spam and porn, we ultimately need to rely on you, our users, in reporting these to us.

 

 

Securing your account from Hackers and Phishers

How do I make sure my account is secure from hacking and phishing?

           

 

Answer

The best way to make sure that your account is safe from hackers and phishers is to be extra careful on how you log in and log out of it.  Here are few other tips that could help:

 

1. Keep your password to yourself.  Never share your password to anyone.

 

2. Use a strong and well-thought-of password. Make it lengthy, combine letters and numbers and update it regularly to make it difficlut to guess.

 

3. When logging in, check if the login page is authentic.  Make sure the URL for the login page is one of the following two:

http://www.PageSync.com/index.php

http://www.PageSync.com/login.php

Even if it does look like the PageSync login page, but it has a different URL than the two above, it's fake.

 

4. If possible, avoid using public shared computers. If this cannot be avoided, make sure that you log out of your account after use.

Yes.  PageSync has it's very own forums which can be accessed by clicking Applications>Forums from the home page.

 

The PageSync Forums are intended to provide users with the opportunity to exchange clean, fun, useful and helpful information on various categories like Business, Entertainment, Lifestyle, Relationships, etc.
